Author JIM CHRISTIAN explores the social and theoretical progress of strength training from the 1950a€™s and lays the foundation for the development of training methods that go beyond the conventional way of thinking. While coaching high school football in the mid 70a€™s, his interest in developing an ideal strength program for athletes leads him to a small fitness center where his conventional beliefs about strength training are shattered.
