Further investigation of [Ru2(CO3)4] 3- led to LnIII[Ru2(CO3) 4]Am8H2O (Ln = Gd, Nd, Ho, Yb), which do not magnetically order above 2K. These materials have a 3-D network structure composed of linked chains with microm-CO3 linkages to Ru and LnIII sites, which is best described as LnIII(OH2)4[Ru 2(CO3)4]1/2[Ru2(CO 3)4(OH2)1/2Am3H2O. LnIII-[Ru2(CO3)4] chain interactions, are observed, similar to the MII analog; however Ln materials have mu4-CO3 environments and lack the layered motif as half of the [Ru2(CO3)4]3- sites have axial H2O coordination.(7) Obtained on a 9Z9 Bruker AXS D8 Advance Diffractometer equipped with a Gobel mirror to remove all but the CuKa radiation (A = 1.5418 A) between 10 to 60Ad 2d. ...
