The purpose of this meta analysis was to consider individual, familial, and environmental risk factors that contribute to the development and maintenance of Anorexia Nervosa. The research question addressed in this work was: What are the most impactful risk factors that contribute to the development and maintenance of Anorexia Nervosa? The results of this work present information that is valuable to the clinician in a number of ways. The framework of risk factors may be incorporated into a useful assessment tool and used in the creation of prevention programs. The concept of risk factors allows the clinician to develop a treatment approach that considers individual, familial, and environmental risk factors and their impact on the individual. More research is necessary; however, this study provides information that can inform the etiology, assessment, treatment and prevention of Anorexia Nervosa.The effect sizes for each study were then compiled into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet that was downloaded into SPSS and analyzed.
