A regional consultative meeting on issues facing the automobile industry was held between Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and representatives of nine Asian countries in Seoul, Korea, in December 2001. The main goal of the meeting was to broaden mutual understanding on global and regional issues related to automotive industry sector and to establish greater cooperation among the participating countries. This publication is a compilation of the documents that were presented at this meeting.
