A paradigm shift is occurring in the business communications world; mobile technology is changing the way that workforces are deployed and managed, the way that people go about their everyday work, and the very means by which business is conducted. However, business adoption of mobile communications has been fragmented. Individuals, rather than businesses, are taking the initiative to bring mobility into the workplace, causing consternation among information technology managers and business executives who have to answer to the manageability and security concerns that go along with having an active workforce accessing company confidential information from outside of the corporate network.
