Let Autumn Come is a compilation of thematically connected poems from my life in Merrick County, with memories reaching back to my Grand Island and Malcolm, Nebraska days. The title comes from many significant autumn events my life has entailed me, especially October. The tone and theme of the majority of poems revolve with the seasons of love and loss and are bathed in sweet Nebraska imagery. The title poem, qLet Autumn Come, q is where I find myself philosophically at this juncture in my writing life. This collection spans across the decades exposing tensions of a young girl in 1970s Nebraska, losing a beloved sister, realizing the differences between parents, falling in love, having children, watching family and friends divorce, losing both parents, all the while growing in devout faith.
