The major concepts covered in this unit were understanding fractions as equal and fair shares, as parts of a whole, and parts of a set. Also, that students would develop a deeper understanding of the meaning of the numerator and denominator, would be able to identify equivalent fractions, and be able to compare fractions. In addition to the mathematics goals and communication goals of this unit, I was looking for students' attitudes towards fractions to improve.They explain important vocabulary words, how to complete problems from beginning to end, and then students complete worksheets in the exact ... Enrollment in the school is just over 1200 students ranging from pre-kindergarten to fifth grade.
