This book illustrates how gender equity (and inequality) occurs in primary classrooms. It uses the findings of current research to provide teachers with recommendations for promoting equity amongst boys and girls.It may be the case that the differential approaches of primary age girls and boys towards mathematics has received less attention because, on the surface, girls appear to be performing better than boys in KS2 maths tests (DfES 2002).
