No decision to homeport units overseas is made without a comprehensive review of Force Protection requirements for both our service members and their families. ... If confirmed as CNO, I would certainly review all policy decisions that may expose our members and their families to risk, but I have no reason to believe the MCM homeporting decision failed in any way to provide adequate force protection.
